Wedding Day Fun!

Here are a few ideas we have gathered to help you infuse some fun into your Big day.

1. Plan out your event, then assign responsibilities.  You should have nothing to do but show up, and enjoy the ride.  Allow others the joy of carrying out your wishes.  Most want to anyways.
2. Relax and let be whatever happens.  Every wedding we have filmed has had something unique happen.  From the groom missing his tux pants, to the bride’s ring getting lost, to the sound system failing.  Just take a deep breath and relax. Whatever happens, you’ll still be married when it’s all said and done, and afterall, that is the reason you are having a wedding in the first place.
3. Create a wedding day video guest book.  Instead of having a book where everyone signs in and you never look at it again, have us, or someone else, set up a camera where your guests can come in and say a few short words.
4. Create a theme wedding such as a jazz wedding, rock-n-roll, 70s, etc… Setting and mood helps establish the wedding.
5. Instead of the bouquet and garter toss, think of other games that would be fun for everybody. Doing away with the bouquet and garter toss will make some people more comfortable, especially single people who usually avoid (or even dread) the ritual. Perhaps you might want a door prize for the bouquet winner?  Better yet, raffle off a dance with the bride/groom and use the extra money on your honeymoon.
6. Place a large, matted photograph of you and your soon-to-be spouse somewhere in the reception area, have colored markers available and allow everyone to sign the matting and give their best wishes.
7. Best-man camera:  Give the best-man a camera to capture the before and after moments.  Then allow us to incorporate those memories into the final wedding video cut.
8. Skip the formal rehearsal dinner for something relaxed and casual.  It can be a cocktail or pool party, a beach Hawaiian luau or a Wii tournament. Just get everyone together and have some fun.
